Winter Break 2013

Happy Christmas Break to all the teachers and students out there!  I don’t know about you but I am ready for two weeks off!

Yesterday was an amazing day of appreciation and gifts and hugs and loves from my students.  I forgot what the day before Christmas break was like in the classroom.  The gifts came bounding in.  I should be set for Dunkin’ Donuts coffee for a while with all the gift cards I got!  We had a Holiday party, watched a little movie and just enjoyed the celebration of the season.  When it was time to go home, I gave 25 hugs goodbye and each hug I gave made me appreciate my job even more!

Last night, I went over to my parents and I showed my mom all of the goodies that I got yesterday at school (it is a tradition for us).  Then, my dad and I made peanut butter balls together (another tradition).  It was really a great day.

Now, I am looking forward to a great break!  I want to set some goals for myself so the next two weeks just don’t go by with no accomplishments.  There are some things around the house I want to get done and I need to find a Weight Watchers meeting again, workout, and catch up on some blogging.

So, here are my goals for the next two weeks to end out my year.

  • Walk 10,000 steps every day.  I have a fun new way to track my steps and I want to hit that goal of 10,000 every day.  As long as I go for some sort of walk and do my usual “running around,” it shouldn’t be too difficult to achieve.
  • Switch out my summer clothes in my closet for my winter ones.  I know this should have been done a LONG time ago but it just hasn’t.  Now, I am going to the back bedroom to “shop” for something to wear.  I have no idea what fits me and now the clothes are mingling.  I just need to clean out and organize my closet.
  • Spend a total of 3 hours in our upstairs cleaning.  We have a room over our garage where we tend to dump things.  If we don’t know where it goes, it goes up there.  I need to spend a total of three hours over the break cleaning out and organizing.
  • Clean out the back bedroom of all clutter.  Another spot in my house that needs organizing.  This room is where things to review for the blog tend to go.  I need to have a better organization system for blogging things other than that room.
  • Go to at least two Weight Watchers meetings.  I need to try and find a new meeting time but first I need to visit some leaders and see if I like them.  Over the break, I need to go listen to two different people and feel out the meeting to see what I think of not only the leader but the members as well.
  • Blog, blog, blog!  I need to make time to blog and work on answering emails, etc…

I also want to visit with friends and spend some time with family but that WILL be done so I didn’t make it a goal.

What are your plans over the next two weeks?  How will you be successful?

Keep Calm Because It's Officially Christmas Break
