Simply Filling Technique – Weekly Weigh In

My weigh in at Weight Watchers last night was OK.  Had I not eaten all that chocolate cake last week, I might have lost more.  I did manage to lose 1.2 and I saw a total loss of 100.0 on the scale again.  Slowly moving back to where I was before Thanksgiving.

Last night, the meeting topic was all about a new technique that the new Points Plus 2012 is offering.  It is called the Simply Filling Technique.

Weight Watchers Simply Filling

With the new program, you can choose NOT to track for a day.  That’s right, the one thing Weight Watchers ALWAYS wants you to do is track but they have figured out a way that you don’t have to track.  Yep, they are giving you a day, or two days, or three of NO tracking.

But…there is a simple rule you must follow.  You must only eat “power foods”.  Power foods are foods that are fruits, vegetables, whole grains, fat free dairy, or lean meats.  You can also eat your 2 teaspoons of oil a day without tracking those.  You can also drink some beverages without tracking like coffee (black), tea (unsweetened), or diet beverages.  Here is a whole article about what is on the power foods list.

Now, what if you want to eat a food NOT from the power food list?   You can eat it but you have to track it and it has to come out of your weekly 49 points.

The cool thing about simply filling is you can do it once a week, twice a week, or all week long (if you can handle it!).  The choice is up to you.  You can track one day and do simply filling the next.  That is all part of the flexibility of the new program.

My leader challenged us to do the simply filling technique one time this week.  I am going to try it one day.  I will be eating a lot of eggs, lean meats, fruits, and veggies but I am going to try it for one day.  Wish me luck!

Have you thought about using the Simply Filling technique?  Will you try it for one day this week?

I’m not sure how I feel about the simply filling technique. I really like the flexibility of being able to eat what I want AND learning how to portion my favorite foods. I may give it a try but I’m not sold just yet.

I like the flexibility of being able to eat what I want also. I have yet to try it so the verdict is still out!

I am sitting down to make my meal plan for the week, and I think I’m going to try the simply filling once this week too.  Just to see how it is.  I think it might actually be harder for me because I feel it might limit my choices a little too much.  We will have to wait and see though!  Wish me luck!

Did you try it? How did it go?

Simply Filling Technique is not new to the 2012 program.  WW has just decided to tell everyone about it at meetings and embrace it.  It’s a great program and a way to eat better/make better choices on a regular basis without having to track, and to know which things (the things you track) need to be eaten in moderation.  I love it!

Thanks Wanda! I am glad to know that someone uses it and loves it. I will have to give it a try!

I am trying Simply Filling this week.  I keep trying but WW has not been working for me because of my tendency to overeat.  Because low carb has worked in the past for me, I want to try Simply Filling.  It will give me more flexibility than low carb, and it will allow me to eat more.

I have been trying the simply filling technique now for a couple of months, I do like it alot mainly because no tracking and very flexiable. I just was wondering if anyones of a good web site that has all the pre packaged food you can eat on plan.

    • http://www.itsuxtobefat.com Jennifer Swafford

I will have to look and see. I haven’t seen any like that. If I find one, I will let you know!

I have been on the simply filling for almost 3 years. I am a life time member and have made this my lifestyle. My husband has been on SFT for almost 2 years and is also a lifetime member. He lost 100 lbs in a year on this program. It is the only way he knows he has never done the points plus program. It really works. I always felt hungry on the points plus plan. We prepare alot all of our foods. We do eat out alot but we dont buy prepackaged foods. Give it a try I think you will like it.
