Skinny Cow Candy – Review

Do you ever get a really bad sweet tooth and you just NEED something sweet?  Have you ever had a really bad sweet tooth and it won’t go away until you satisfy it with something sweet?  Not something fake sweet but real chocolate?  I have these occasionally and I recently found the solution!

Have you seen Skinny Cow’s new candy?  I had a coupon for it the other day so I purchased some at the grocery store to try them out.  One word…YUM!  These are so good.  I bought a package of the dreamy clusters in dark chocolate and the peanut butter Heavenly Crisps (my coupon was buy one get one free!).

Skinny Cow Candy

First, let me tell you about the Dreamy Clusters in dark chocolate.  These come in a box that contains six pouches.  In each pouch is about four or five clusters of ooey, gooey, caramely, chocolaty goodness!  I’m telling you, these little clusters are so good!  The entire pouch is 4 Weight Watchers Points Plus.  I don’t eat these daily or even weekly.  I only eat them when I want a real treat (I don’t usually have 4 points plus left at the end of the day!).  These are truly an indulgent treat.  If you try it, I promise you will like it!

Next, I tried the Heavenly Crisp in peanut butter.  This box contains six “candy bars.”  These are wafer like bars whose texture remind me of the chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla wafers that I used to eat as a kid except these are so much better!  These are very chocolaty and peanut buttery!  They are truly delicious!  The “candy bar” is 3 Weight Watchers points plus.

A few things to note about these candies.  First of all, don’t trust the points that are printed on the box.  The heavenly crisps have the correct point value but the dreamy clusters do not.  I am thinking that Skinny Cow has not updated their products to be Points Plus.  They must still be using the old points system.  Second, the dreamy clusters are totally worth the extra point plus.  I prefer the dreamy clusters over the heavenly crisps.  There is something about having a bunch of clusters versus one bar.

So, I am in love!  These new candies from Skinny Cow are delicious and much more reasonable in the Points Plus range than traditional candy.  Have you tried these?  Do you plan on trying these?  You won’t be disappointed!

I purchased these Skinny Cow candies at the grocery store and wrote this review based solely on my opinion.  I was not compensated in any way for my review.

The only problem as far as I can tell is how to eat just one pouch and not the entire box :)

I agree Jennifer – I’ve had both and really enjoyed them.  They truly are the perfect substitute for a traditional candy bar.  I actually prefer the peanut butter wafers. :)

Another thing I found from Hungry Girl that is equally delicious – especially if you like Butterfingers, are the Slim Fast Peanut Butter Crunch Time bars for 3 Points+.

Thanks for the tip Hilary! I will have to look for those!

Skinny cow is a joke.  They come off as being low calorie, but really just have half the serving size of what they’re trying to say they’re a low cal version of.  It’s funny, because my g/f brought home the packaged chocolate that’s supposed to replace my butterfinger, but when I compared the two, the skinny cow actually has more grams of fat per weight compared to a butterfinger.  Period.

WOW! Thanks Jeffery for letting me know. I will certainly have to check into that. Maybe the best thing they can offer is portion control?
