A while back Medifast came out with chewy bars. Many people were wondering, “why a bar” when they already have so many different flavored crunch bars out. I have to admit, I probably thought the same thing and I liked the crunch bars.
The new flavor of chewy bars they have are peanut butter chocolate chip and cookie dough.
Of course my favorite is the peanut butter chocolate chip…even though they don’t taste very peanut buttery, they are still really good. They have a layer of chocolate on the bottom with chocolate chips in them. They are completely different texture wise than a crunch bar. I didn’t care for the texture of the crunch bar but still ate them because I liked the taste. These have a similar texture to a caramel candy. They are definitely chewy and very delicious.
Now the cookie dough chewy bars don’t taste much like cookie dough, but they are good also. They taste similar to something with a vanilla flavor. They also have a layer of vanilla icing on the bottom of them. I do have to say they are smaller than the crunch bars but they do fill you up.
Both of these new bars are in my regular monthly ordering of products.
Medifast has also just come out with a blueberry muffin. I wasn’t too sure about these at first. I tried making them as directed in the little paper bowl they give you and they overflowed all over in my microwave. The next time I tried less water and that made them dry. Then people said they were making them in mugs and they were not overflowing, so I found a way to cook them that makes them really good.
I mix them in a mug with the amount of water that is called for.
Then, I microwave it and put it out on a plate.
Cut it in half and then I add a wedge of Laughing Cow cinnamon flavored cream cheese and they are so good. This definitely gives you your fruit fix if that is something you are craving because there are some pretty good sized blueberries in there. These make a great breakfast with a cup of coffee.
If you need a new food to try on the Medifast eating plan these are definitely worth trying!!
Have you tried any of these new foods? If so, what did you think of them?
