Peppermint Mocha Protein Shake – Recipe

I cannot believe there are less than two weeks until Christmas!

Every year, my husband and I love to watch Christmas movies while we decorate the house.  I just love having traditions like that.  We also love to drive around looking at Christmas lights.  When we get to a house that has a ton of lights, we call it a “Honky Tonk” house.  That is what my parents always called it growing up and I am sure when we have kids, they will call it that too!

In the past, when we have driven around looking at lights, we always got a Starbucks to drink to have on the way.  One of my favorite drinks to get was a Peppermint Mocha.  The rich taste of chocolate with the cool peppermint is a must!  What I don’t like about this drink is all the calories and carbs.  One venti Peppermint Mocha Frappuccino will throw you back 440 calories, 6 grams of protein and 89 grams of carbs…and that is without whipped cream!

For this month’s Seasonal Smoothie challenge, I decided to re-create that favorite drink of mine into a delicious protein shake.

Peppermint Mocha Protein Shake

I used a few things that Puritan’s Pride had sent me in this month’s goodie box and created the most delicious shake.  What I love, other than the taste, is this peppermint mocha protein shake will only cost you 195 calories, 11 grams of carbs and has a whopping 32 grams of protein!  When you drink this, instead of being calorie laden, you will have the protein you need to conquer the day or recover after a hard workout!

This one is a keeper, for sure!
