Jesus Christ - without Him, I would not have had the strength to continue on this journey. When I was weak, He made me strong. When I felt like I couldn’t do it anymore, He told me to keep moving. When He knew I needed rest, He gave me rest in Him. If you don’t know this man, Jesus, talk to me. I would love to introduce you to Him.
My husband, Jason – where would I be without this man? He loved me in my fattest and in my thinnest. He never turned his back on me. He saw the person I was on the inside when my outside was not so attractive. He supported me, encouraged me, cheered for me and loved me through all of this weight loss journey. Without his encouragement, this blog would not exist. Thank you, Jason for all you have done in the past eight plus years. Where would I be without you?
My parents – They are the reason I joined Weight Watchers once again for the fourth time in my life. They are also a big part of why I didn’t quit WW when the going got tough. They paid for me to join and continued to pay as long as I lost weight. They prayed for me through my heaviest years and encouraged me during the past two and a half.
My dad joined with me and hit lifetime. He has stayed a lifetime member, staying within two pounds of his goal, for the past two years. He is my hero! Every Monday after leaving my Weight Watcher meeting, I call my mom and give her a report. She loves me no matter what the outcome is. I hope you have amazing parents like I do but if you don’t, lean on Isaiah 49, “Can a woman forget her nursing child and have no compassion on the son of her womb? Even though she may forget, I will not forget you. Behold, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands.” Thank you to Elle-a prior fat girl, for an amazing post that reiterates this point!
My sister, Katherine – You have always been my role model. Thank you for encouraging me to keep going. Thank you for your phone calls and sweet notes of encouragement. I love you and I can’t wait to celebrate with you when you reach your goals!
My friends Kristen and Allison – Kristen has been there, done that, gotten the t-shirt and finished the race. She was the first one to tell me how many points a food was and what a good day looked like. She has lost over eighty pounds herself and has shown success can happen! Kristen, I love you dearly and yes, I know how big my head used to be!
Allison was my weight loss buddy. We were both heavier (she was pregnant, I was just fat) and needed to lose weight. During the past year of my journey she would call me and see how I was doing and tell me how she was doing. She would go clothes shoppingwith me when I was in desperate need of clothes. She let me rummage through her closet last fall and a few weeks ago so I would have some things to wear that didn’t look like trash bags because my current clothes were too big! I have done 5k’s with both of these ladies and they push me to do better! I love both of these women with all my heart and I cherish my friendship with them!
My weight watcher leader, Jacynta – This lady is my Monday night rock! She is my encourager, my cheerleader, my coach, and my friend. I love her so much and will know her the rest of my life! Thank you Jacynta for being there every 5 pounds of the way! You are an amazing Christian woman who is a real gem in the Weight Watcher industry!
Do you have some people who have been essential to your weight loss success? Are you just beginning your journey? If you are just starting out, find those people who will help you along the way. Just remember, we were not made to live this life alone. Two is better than one.
