Tell Others

Yesterday was a horrible eating day for me.  Oh…and that whole “giving up sweets” thing.  Yeah…that hasn’t happened.  I told you I’m an addict.

Anywho…I don’t even want to know how many calories I consumed yesterday.  Have you ever been in a situation and did really bad and then said, “ Oh well, screw the rest of the day!” and threw in the towel for the WHOLE day?  Well, that was me yesterday.  The good news is today is a new day and I am moving on and starting fresh.  I am counting Weight Watchers points plus and exercising this afternoon.  Isn’t it nice to be able to start anew every day?  Isn’t it nice that no matter how badly we screw up, there is always a chance to start over?  I LOVE this quote from Pinterest:

Instead of dwelling on how horribly I did yesterday, let me tell you three amazing things that happened to me yesterday.

I had a meeting early in the morning and at this meeting, we were given gifts.  Everyone got these warm, fuzzy socks and some chocolate.  Well, everyone got the same gift except me.  My gift, instead of chocolate, had a yummy smelling candle.  The person who gave me the gift said she had read my blog post where I was giving up sweets so gave me a candle instead.  COOL thing number one!

The next cool thing that happened was during a celebration in our media center.  There were TONS of goodies and yummy things to eat.  As I was perusing the goods, one of the ladies that helped put it all together told me she brought the Clementines just for me because she knew there was nothing there I would be able to eat.  COOL thing number two!

Then, I was done tutoring a sweet cherub yesterday and her mom gave me a gift.  It was a bag of the most delicious oranges.  She told me her husband buys them from another town because they are these special oranges that are sooo good.  She then told me that she knew I was doing so good on my weight loss she didn’t give me any marmalade because she didn’t think I would eat it.  COOL thing number three!

With how bad my day was, I am thinking God put these three things TOGETHER on the same day to encourage me.  How cool that people around me do special things just for me because they know I am trying to be healthy.

I want to encourage you to tell others that you are trying to be healthy, especially this time of year.  With so many people bringing gifts to others and treats to work, if people know that you are trying to watch what you eat, they will be able to think about you when making dishes or selecting goodies to bring in to share.

I am amazed and honored that these three women thought so much of me to tailor something to my needs.  Now, if I can just think that highly of MYSELF and tailor my eating to my needs, I will be good to go!

Who will you tell that you are trying to live healthier?  Let others help you and encourage you and hold you accountable!

I had a VERY similar day yesterday. After carefully counting all morning and afternoon… I ate two small lindor truffles at work. Do you know that those are 3 points each? EACH! After that minor setback I decided that I was going to engorge myself with pasta, pepper poppers, christmas cookies, and tater tots. UGH. I plan on starting fresh tomorrow.

I’ve heard a saying for days like yesterday… If you trip down one stair, do you throw yourself down the rest of the staircase?

I guess for us yesterday the answer is yes.

Everyday is a new day. Keep counting! :)

Hi Jen! I am another Jen who thinks It Sux To Be Fat.  I too am doing Weight Watchers!  So impressed with your progress and I love the blog.  I just stumbled upon it recently via Dashing Dish.

Giving up sweets, why?!! I also share your sweet addiction, but WW gives us those 49 points so that by, moderately indulging in the foods we love most, we won’t lose all abandon and binge.  Especially this time of year…

You can do this!  You will be at goal and lifetime before you know it.

Hi Jen! I am so glad you found me! I just can’t control portions when I eat sweets. For me, it is all or nothing.

Being Diabetic I know the feeling of sugar creeping into the diet plan.  Just communicating with your  friends in the world helps to allows your  food intake changes to be everyones dietthoughts and not just yours.

They will support and help your focus every day.
