If you would have told Nicole a year ago that she would weigh 126 pounds, she would have said, “No way!”

Jan. 2nd 2012 – 168.8lbs
She weighed close to 170 pounds (at 5’2″ tall) and her goal was to get to 140. When she got there and knew she could go further, she did!

127 lbs – Size 2/4
She got to 127 pounds and then continued to lose a few more and ended up at 124 pounds. She has been at that weight for 6 months now! You are going to love her story…
Tell us a little about yourself…
I’m a 33 year old work from home mom of two little girls ages 4 &6. I have been married for almost 8 years. We live in Charlotte, NC but I am originally from Hollywood, FL.
How long did it take you to get to your ideal weight? Are you there now?
My original goal was to weigh 140lbs, it took me about 4 months to lose 28.8lbs however I kept going and I’m now 124lbs, a goal I would have never imagined. I’m not sure when I ever weighed that!
What was your motivation to lose weight?
Honestly, I was just sick at looking at pictures of myself. I felt disgusted. During the journey I followed like minded people on social networks like Instagram. I loved looking at before & after pictures, it really helped me stay focused.
What made you decide to start your weight loss journey?
I refused to buy bigger clothing, I HAD to make a change.
What kept you on track losing weight?
I kept a food diary via My Fitness Pal. I not only tracked calories but also protein, carbs, sugar & fat. I allowed myself one treat meal each week such as a cheeseburger & fries. I have that to look forward to each week.
I set goals (like I will lose 30 lbs by April 1st) and I posted these goals on Facebook so I would be accountable to my friends and family.
Tell us about a typical day in terms of eating and exercise.
I wake up at 6:30am & have 5 egg whites with 2 rice cakes with natural peanut butter. Coffee with unsweetened vanilla almond milk & Truvia.
I work out from 8-9am after I drop my kids off at school. This includes 30 minutes of weight training followed by 30 minutes of cardio.

After my workout around 9:30am, I will have a homemade protein bar or protein shake (she loves Dashing Dish’s recipes!).
Lunch at 12:30pm is generally 6 oz chicken breast, sweet potato, and salad with lite balsamic vinaigrette dressing.
Snack – Ground Turkey with whole wheat pasta
Dinner at 6:30pm – 8oz Tilapia, Broccoli, & salad
Snack at 9:30pm – Egg white omelet with mushrooms & onions
I drink water & Crystal Light throughout the day.
What is the biggest difference you have noticed because of your weight loss?
I am a much happier person which has made me more productive in all other areas of life. I have a stronger relationship with my husband & overall I feel strong, sexy, and confident!
What advice can you give to others struggling to lose weight?
Please do not take the easy way out. Will you lose weight? Probably, but you can not maintain those crazy fad diets. It sounds so cliche, but it’s a lifestyle change. Start with nutrition. Get your food under control. Prep meals for the week. Instead of hiring a personal trainer, hire a nutritionist.
How do you keep the weight off in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle?
I continue the same healthy habits I formed while trying to lose weight.
1. Eat every 3 hours
2. Weight Train 5 days a week
3. Eat lots of protein & complex carbs
4. Everything in moderation
5. Have a treat meal once a week
6. Drink lots of water!
7. Measure & track your food intake.
Give us a quote or a motto that you have used to keep you focused.
The body achieves what the mind believes.
Just because I have reached a healthy weight doesn’t mean I’m done. Each day I strive to be a better version of myself! My fitness goals now focus on packing on lean muscle along with getting my body fat to 15%. I also plan on participating in a mud run. As always, I want to continue to help and inspire others! Lean & Mean for 2013!
Girl! You are lean and mean! Your body is rockin’! Way to go! You look so different and healthy! You are so beautiful and what an inspiration to others! Keep on rockin’ it! You look fabulous!
Isn’t Nicole awesome? She not only met her goal but surpassed it! What one thing can you take from Nicole’s story and implement into your life?
