Ready to Rock 39!

I had a birthday yesterday!  The big 3-9!  One more year until the big 4-0!  My mom asked me yesterday, “So, how does it feel to be 39?”  I said, “The same as it felt to be 38!”  I spent the day with this cutie:

Jen and Delaney on her birthday

Yesterday was a very surreal day for me.  My first birthday with a child.  For those of you that have had children for like 30 years, you might not understand why that is surreal.  For those of you who wished for children and battled infertility and tried for YEARS to have a baby, you get it.

I had a fun day of getting my hair done, my nails done, spending time with my family and then out to dinner at one of my favorite restaurants.

Jen's 39th Birthday

I did NOT eat on plan for dinner but I am proud to say I am back on it today.  That’s the thing about life.  Celebrations are going to come and go.  It’s your choice whether you choose to make them a day, week, month or year long.  For me, I chose one meal long.  I ate way too many tortilla chips and homemade guacamole but now, I am back on working out, eating healthy and drinking my Shakeology.

I know you are all DYING to find out how 21 day Fix is going.  Well, you might not be DYING but I am sure at least a few of you are curious.  I have done the 21 Day Fix for exactly a week yesterday.  Let me be 100% honest with you (as always…sometimes TOO honest!) I have had a slow start.  Let me splain it to you…

  • I didn’t do the dvd workouts at first because I am SOOOOOOO out of shape.
  • I didn’t always measure out my food.  My teaspoon of peanut butter might have been more than a teaspoon.
  • I didn’t workout EVERY day due to this or that.

  • I DID eat almost all of the food I was supposed to eat with no cheats.
  • I DID walk most of the days.
  • I DID workout one day to the dvd (yes, I have had trouble sitting down for the last two days because of it)
  • I DID drink all of my water.
  • I DID drink my Shakeology every day.
  • I DID eat more fruits and vegetables than I have in a LONG time!

Looking at that list, I would say I was pretty successful!  Most of the list is DIDs so that is good.  I just like to be perfect and I always strive for perfection so any didn’ts and I am NOT happy with myself…I should probably work on that!

So, knowing the good and the bad of my week, I am happy to report that I was down 2 pounds!  I know I am not supposed to weigh until the end but I am a scale addict…can’t help it.  I may or may not have weighed every day except for today (since I had my big birthday meal last night!).

Since I turned 39 last night, I feel like this is my year.  I turn 40 next year and we all know how much fun that number is…well, you know if you have been there.  I want my last year in my 30’s to be my best one yet and I feel that is 100% do-able.  I have a new baby.  I have a job I love.  I have a husband who is so good to us.  I have a God who takes care of me.  I have family I adore.  The only thing I don’t have is my health.   I am very unhealthy.  I am fat and tired and out of shape.  I am ready to change all of that.

Jason and I were talking a few months ago about our health and Delaney and I said to him, “We are already old parents.  We can’t do one darn thing about that.  However, we are also fat parents and THAT we can control.  We don’t want to be old AND fat parents!”

So…this is my year.  I am going to have a wonderful, HEALTHY 39 so I can go into my 40’s acting younger than when I turned 30!

If anyone else is sick and tired of being sick and tired and wants to do this with me, please message me, inbox me, send me an email, something.  Right now, when you buy a bag of Shakeology, you get the 21 day Fix for only $10!  That is an absolute steal and let me just tell you how pissed I was that I missed that deal by one week!  I ordered one darn week too soon!  Oh well…it’s not too early or too late for you to get the deal.  I would love to help you achieve your goals as I work to achieve mine.  I would love to coach you through this and we can do this together.  We already have a group set up of 7 ladies who are committed to changing their lives!  Consider joining us and you too can get healthy this next year!  If you are ready to order and change your life, click HERE for the special!

Here’s to my 39th birthday and a year full of endless possibilities.  What is one piece of advice you would give to someone in their last year in their 30’s?  Leave me a comment and give me yours!
