NOTHING Tastes as Good as…

NOTHING!

Have you heard the saying, “Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels?”  Well..I have a different saying.

NOTHING tastes as good as being HEALTHY feels…

I will never be “thin.”  I will be healthy.  I will be healthier than I am now.  And…nothing tastes as good as it feels to be healthy.

N-O-T-H-I-N-G

I need to remember this when I am staring at a bowl of cheese dip or a Hershey bar.

I need to remember this when I decide NOT to eat the fish but instead have pizza.

I need to remember this when I don’t feel like working out.

I need to remember this when I’m tired of being on a weight loss roller coaster.

I need to remember this when I am thinking of quitting.

I can now relate this to my current half marathon I am working toward. Am I going to do all this training to just give up at the end? Am I going to run almost the whole race and then walk off the road right before I get to the finish line? No way!  I am going to finish this darn thing. I worked for it, now I am going to finish, get my medal, put the 13.1 car magnet on my car but most importantly, I am going to feel so darn proud of myself!!!

I am also going to finish this weigh loss journey. I am not “there” yet. I am about at mile 12 in a half-marathon. I can see the last mile but I am not finished.  I am going to get to Weight Watchers goal and get my Lifetime key chain but most importantly, I am going to feel so darn proud of myself!

You know why I am going to do all of this?  Because…

I-Am-Worth-It!

I just need to remind myself that NOTHING tastes as good as being healthy feels.

NOTHING tastes as good as getting to goal feels.

N-O-T-H-I-N-G!

Right! Because being healthy is better than being thin (outside, fat inside). Being thin is definitely not a measurement of being healthy.

      Healthy>Thin

I’ve found that the instant gratification of giving in to a craving is completely dwarfed by the long-term satisfaction of being fit and healthy and strong.  I like the analogy to the Half Marathon. So true!

Great job on your first mile. I remember when I did that…I was so proud of myself as I am sure you are too! Keep it up!

This has been my mantra as well.  It’s so not worth it in the long run.

      Not worth it at all!

Oh wow I love this black sign, because it’s so true. You can be skinny and healthy at the same time. They usually compliment each other. It’s what motivates you more that matters.
