Where do I begin?!? I have needed to write an update for so many weeks and time just kept going on and on. School ended last week and the end of the school year is always so crazy…now that is over, I can finally give you an update.
So I started Keto back on March 11. I really had no clue what I was doing but I just started with eating low carb, high fat, and moderate protein. My husband and I were both on board so it made it much easier. It is always easier when you have a partner who is doing the same eating plan as you.
We went several weeks doing good and just plugging along. I averaged about two pounds a week losing and lost several inches. I saw a few weeks of not much weight loss on the scale and was getting a bit frustrated. I ordered some Ketones hoping that would give me the jumpstart I needed. Then, May 6 happened.
I heard about a Keto weight loss challenge that Keto4Karbaholics runs. Basically, you pay $60 to join and Kassey gives you personalized macros, meal plans, a shopping list, and an online community where you can ask all questions and interact with others. Also, the person who loses the highest percentage of weight loss wins $6000. Yep-you read that right-$6-0-0-0 dollhairs. But…you are competing against 1400 people so the chance of winning is not high. Jason and I decided we would both join.
On May 6, the challenge started. We carbed up a few days before (felt so disgusting) and weighed in. Each week Kassey gives us a week’s worth of recipes and meal plans. Everything I have made has been awesome. She calculated our macros for us and I found that I was eating way too much protein so that might have been the cause for some of my “stall.”
Since May 6, I have lost 10.6 pounds (more for the challenge due to my initial weigh in being at night) and I expect to be down a few more tomorrow morning when I weigh.
I have been VERY focused on this new lifestyle and way of eating. Now, I do know that there is some controversy about Keto eating and if it is bad for you. I also know that I had to do SOMETHING to NOT weigh 250 pounds anymore!
At my last weigh in, I was 221 pounds. When I started in March with Keto I was around 240. I would say that is a win in my book. Here is my weight loss graph and chart for the past three months.

Oh…and on a separate note but completely life changing at the same time, we are about to put our house on the market and have spent the last month packing, cleaning, painting, organizing, new carpeting and getting ready to list our house. The house I have lived in for 16 years. The house I came home to as a newlywed. The house I got my first dog in. The house I brought Delaney home to. Yes, that house is about to go on the market and I am going to be leaving it so there might be a few emotions to go along with that. But, that is for another place and time. Think about me this next week as a photographer comes and people start traipsing through MY house…
In the meantime, if you are interested in learning more about the Keto weight loss challenge I am in, click THIS link. A new one is starting July 1 and both Jason and myself will be joining again. The recipes, macros, and accountability are just too good to pass up for $60.
How are you all doing? Sorry I have been missing in action. I’m back…well at least for today!
