Summer 2015 Goals

Happy Summer!  Today was my last full day of work so I am officially on summer break!

Keep calm teachers summer break is on

Hallelujah!  I love those kids but teachers need a break at the end of the year!  Summer is that time for us to rejuvenate and get ready for the next year.  I had a wonderful year in fifth grade but the awesome thing about being a teacher is you get the opportunity to start over every year!

This summer, I have lots of things going on and I have a list of tutoring students but I still want to set goals so the summer doesn’t go by and I’m like, “Agggghhhhh!  Only a week left of summer!  I better start on that to-do list!”  Anyone know that feeling?  I don’t want to waste the next two months!

Here are my summer goals, not just for weight loss but what I want to do for me:

  • Walk – I need to start walking again.  I have not done so well with exercise lately and I need to get out there and walk.  I am going to set my goal to four days a week of at least 2 miles each time.
  • Eat fresh fruits and veggies – You know I need to do better at this.  I want to eat at least two fruits and two veggies per day over the summer.  What excuse do I have not to?  They are so good this time of year!
  • Clean out clutter – My house has some extra clutter in it.  I want to clean out the clutter and organize my living space so I feel better.  I know having a clean, organized environment helps you have a better life and that is what I would love to do.
  • Come up with a schedule –  I am going to scour Pinterest for a cleaning organizing schedule for the summer and then, I am going to stick to it.  I will get my schedule done for tutoring and cleaning and then I will allow myself some rest time.
  • Blog More – “More” being at least three times a week.  It’s summer…that can be done.
  • Spend time with friends and family – I want to go the pool, go to lunch with friends, play, and relax.  After all, isn’t that what summer is all about?  Sometimes I have a tendency to not rest and take time for me.  This summer, I need some me time and that includes time with friends and family.

There you go.  My goals for the summer.  Some health related and some mental health related.

What are your goals for the summer?  Plan to succeed!  Share with us one goal you have for the months June and July.

Summer: the time of year when parents realize how grossly underpaid teachers actually are.
