First two weeks of Keto – Weekly Weigh In

So, I have been on Keto for two weeks. Two weeks of eating less than 20 grams of Net Carbs a day and trying to stay under my protein and calorie goal. Let me start with the very beginning.

My husband and I decided to commit to Keto. We decided to do it together (which is so important). I did some Pinteresting (isn’t that how all good things begin?) and made a plan. Then, I went to the grocery store and stocked up on “Keto approved” foods.

I also did some research on what my “macros” should be. I went to this website and put in all of my current information and it gave me all the information I needed.

Monday morning, I did my initial weigh in. I put it all in MyFitness Pal and even upgraded to a premium member so I could calculate my macros and track everything I was eating. I learned quickly that MyFitnessPal was not the app I needed to be using because it doesn’t calculate net carbs. This was super important for me because my main goal was to stay under 20 grams of net carbs per day. I needed an app that would easily calculate net carbs for me.

After some more research, Jason found this app, Carb Manager, for us to use. We are premium members so we can use the recipe builder but it is free if you want limited use.

The first week was actually pretty easy. I wasn’t hungry much and pretty much stayed within my range most days. I was happy when I got on the scale and saw this…

Down 4.4! I’ll take it!

The second week I went into it all gung ho and tried intermittent fasting. I got SO sick. I had the Keto flu horribly. I even woke up one morning with such a bad migraine headache that I couldn’t go to work. It-was-awful!

After those mornings, I didn’t really have any more headaches and I have felt good. I was super tired on Sunday but I know that I am getting smaller and my clothes are fitting better. I weighed last Monday and was down another 2.8!

So, for the first two weeks of Keto, I lost a total of 7.2! More importantly, my clothes fit better and I feel better in them! That’s really what matters!

On to week three!
