This past week was the first week of school. It was so great to see all the kids again and get to teach them all about how the computer lab will be this year. I love making the kids laugh and I especially loved hearing the compliments about how “pretty” my picture on my school blog looked! You know when a compliment comes from a kid, it is sincere!
Speaking of compliments, people at work have been commenting on my weight loss! What an awesome thing to keep you going. People giving sincere compliments are so motivating. It just shows that the exercise I did over the summer really paid off in the way I look, even though it really didn’t show on the scale.
Onto my health habits for the week- This has not been a stellar week for me in terms of eating right and exercising. The exercise has not been so good. In fact, today is the first day that I have exercised this week. I plan to workout twice today to make up for the lack of working out earlier in the week. I have to remind myself that I am going to have weeks where I don’t accomplish my goals and that’s okay. As long as I continue to reach for a goal, that’s all I can do.
As far as my eating goes, we didn’t eat out as much this week as we did last week. For that, I am thankful. There was one night where I had an epic, I mean EPIC fail. My husband had to have surgery yesterday to correct some issues they found with his reproductive system that might have caused us some trouble in our quest to get pregnant. With the stress of that upcoming surgery, Ben and Jerry called my name Wednesday night and I gave in. Yep…the whole pint. Holy cow! I know…I can’t believe I did it either. I was doing so good with not eating anything sweet and then I just gave in. But, guess what I did. The very next day, I got right back on track. In the past, I would have just said, “Oh well, I have fallen off the wagon. I will start again next week.” This time, I decided I was worth starting over immediately so that is just what I did.
So, with a week like this, I have to say something my principal always says… Breathe in, breathe out, move on.
Now that the first week of school is behind me and my body is adjusting to the change of schedule, now that Jason’s surgery is behind us and now that having an EPIC fail is behind me. I’m movin’ on. Not tomorrow or Monday but NOW.
How was your work week? Did you stay on plan or have a slip up like I did? Let’s all have a healthy weekend and make up for any “Oops” moments we might have had this past week!
