Yours truly has a birthday coming up on Wednesday. This past weekend was full of birthday celebrations including good food and dessert. Oh no! Oh yes!
The birthday festivities started on Saturday night when a group of friends went out with me to Flip Burger Boutique in Atlanta. If you have never been to Flip, it is a must try! The good thing is the burgers are just the right size. They are not so big that you are stuffed when you finish eating it. I ordered the pimento cheese burger and my friend Allison always gets the Turkey burger (much healthier choice) which she says is delicious. The sides are awesome (not healthy) and the milkshakes are to die for (or gain weight for)! My husband ordered the Captain Crunch milkshake and I ordered the Nutella milkshake. We ended up switching because he is not a big peanut butter fan!
We finished the evening at Dixie’s Tavern just drinking, talking, and laughing. I got to open my first round of presents and I was thrilled to open a Xbox 360 Kinect (thanks Jason) and the Biggest Loser Ultimate Challenge game to go with it! Thanks Josh and Shelley!
The festivities continued on Sunday when I went out for a day on the lake with my family. My brother has a boat and he generously took us all out on Lake Allatoona. It was a fabulous day with the best family in the world. We enjoyed swimming and riding around on the lake. Afterwards, everyone came back to our house to have dinner, cake pops, and open MORE presents! Yeah!
We decided to go fast for dinner since it was already 7:00. Pizza! Yes, my body was not very happy with me last night. After the dinner of pizza, we opened more gifts. The main gift I was hoping for was a Polar heart rate monitor. And….I got it!
I was so excited to get a Polar. I tried to win one in the Prior Fat Girl’s Challenge but I didn’t win (we don’t want to talk about that) so I asked for one for my birthday. Like always, my husband exceeded my expectations and got me a better one than I was hoping for (he is into quality so it will last forever). I will let you know how it works for me and if I like it after I have had some time to use it.
After opening gifts, we enjoyed some homemade cake pops (that I made) and chocolates Jason had gotten me from Chips Chocolate Factory. I was glad to share with everyone because it needs to get out of my house! I am eating it!
So, we had a wonderful weekend full of good (bad) food, friends, family, and amazing gifts. I am into working out lately so I am glad that my gifts will help me achieve my weight loss goals.
I have a weigh in tonight at Weight Watchers. That will NOT be fun. But, I am still going, still being accountable for my actions, and once again, starting over with a new week. How was your weekend? Did you make some not so good choices like I did or did you make great choices?
