Beginning 21 Day Fix

I gave you a little teaser yesterday about the program I chose.  Clean eating with portion control and exercise.  Many of you guessed I was doing the 21 Day Fix.  Smart cookies!  Wait…no more cookies!  NO COOKIES!  Ok…moving past cookies…

For the record, I DID NOT eat any cookies today!  Yeah me!  If you had seen my eating the last few months, you would know what an accomplishment that was.  The other day, I had a pack of oreos and looked at the clock and it wasn’t even 10 a.m. yet!  Who am I?!?!?

Moving on…I weighed today.  I also took measurements today.  I will take before pictures tomorrow.  I started the program today and I feel like I am in a trial period with it.  I am still learning and figuring it all out.  I couldn’t get the workout dvd to work and I was busy with prior things I had to do so even though I didn’t do the actual workout with the program, I felt active.  I drank the shake (yumm-o) and ate fairly on plan.  I had a few hiccups but like I said, I am still learning.  Plus, who am I kidding, this is going to be a lifestyle change and not just a 21 day thing!  Let me back up for a minute.

21 day fix and shakeology

For those of you who have NEVER heard of 21 Day Fix, let me splain it to ya…

21 Day Fix is NOT a quick fix (darn) BUT it is a totally do-able way of living!! The concept is simple exercise and simple nutrition. The workouts are 7 days at 30 minutes a day. They vary which part of the body they are working – an upper body day, lower body, couple of cardio days and 2 active rest days which include pilates and yoga…god help anyone that walks up on me doing yoga and pilates!

The nutrition plan comes with these little colored containers which hold your major food groups: lean protein, veggies, fruit, healthy fat, healthy carb, oils/seeds, and teaspoon for healthy oils such as nut butters and olive oil or coconut oil. They may look small at first but you eat several of each a day and you really can fit a lot of food in them, as long as the lid shuts!! Depending on your caloric needs each day, will determine how many of each container you get. Frankly, with as many as I get, I don’t know how I will eat that many…also going from no fruits and veggies to 6 will be interesting!
In addition to this eating plan, Shakeology is a must have! The shake is much more than “just” a protein shake…it is full of 70+ super foods- quite frankly, our food doesn’t even have the nutrients in them any longer that our bodies need. Shakeology works much like a compound effect – you will feel a difference within days, whether it be more energy, fewer cravings for sweets and snacks, feeling fuller longer….to longer lasting ones like lowered cholesterol or lower sugar levels. It’s totally proven to help weight loss as well. The best part of it is how easy it is to make and go on with your day. It may be the easiest meal but for sure the yummiest and healthiest!  I had my first one today and it was yummy.  They give you a little calendar with recipes so you can vary your shake flavor.
That is the program in a nutshell.  Healthy eating with portion control and exercise.  Oh…is that how you lose weight?  Watch what goes into your mouth and move your booty?!?!?  Rocket science I tell you!  It seems so simple but along with this program comes my friend Heidi.  She is my coach and I can tell you, I have texted her many times over the past few days and she is amazing at answering any questions I have (we had a half hour discussion about coffee creamer the other night!).  Accountability is key!
I have received several emails from readers who are ready to make a change and they want to do this with me and I am SO excited!  I have decided that I will make a private Facebook group for those people who join me in my 21 day adventure and we will all support and encourage each other.  Heidi has agreed to be there with us in case we have any questions (like creamer) and to motivate and support us too!  So, if you are interested, shoot me an email at jennifer@itsuxtobefat.com and I will get you all hooked up with the workout dvd, containers, and yumm-o shake.  If you already have the program and want to re-commit, shoot me an email too!  Frankly I just want other people to go through this with me so we can learn from one another and support one another.  There is nothing like having other people to go through the same thing you are going through for the first time (we can all look like “Newbies” together!).
Let me know if you want to join in on changing your life for the better!  I am so excited and I just know that THIS is what I have been looking for!  I hope you will make the decision to do this with me!
