Work It and It Works – Weekly Weigh In

I know it has been two weeks since I updated you on my weigh in’s.  When I left for Jekyll Island last Monday with my class, it just wasn’t possible to sit down and write a blog post!  But…I did weigh in before I left and this is what I saw:

Weekly Weigh In March 20, 2014

Just squeeked in under 200!  So happy!  I was happy that my stay in the 200’s was quite short.  I was NOT comfortable there!  A loss of 1.4 was my total for the week.  I was thrilled!

Then, off to Jekyll I went and eating cafeteria food was what I had for three days.  I tracked in My Fitness Pal and stayed away from the snacks the kids had for the most part.  It was a lot of walking and it was SO MUCH FUN!

I came home and did not weigh.  I wanted to give myself a few days to get back on track and focused.  The whole trip, I did not eat sugar or sweets so I knew that was a win!  It really is amazing to see all the sweets I say, “No” to all week long.  It was eye opening to put into my notes every day what I did not eat due to the decision.  Thousands of calories were saved for me!

I gave myself through the weekend and weighed again on my new weigh in day, Tuesday.  Here is what I saw:

Weekly Weigh In March 25, 2014

ANOTHER LOSS!  Down 0.6!  I was so excited.  I told Jacynta on Saturday that I would be happy if I stayed the same.  She was thinking I would lose a pound.  She won!  I was closer to her expectations than my own.

It just shows that even if you have a few “bad” days, you can still turn it around and have a loss before the week is over!


So, this week’s topic is, “IF you work the plan, the plan works!”  What is “the plan” you ask?  It is ANY plan you choose that works for you.

Weight Watchers worked for me for over 5 years.  Weight Watchers only worked when I did the plan.  When I stayed the course and did what I was supposed to do, it worked.  When I didn’t, it didn’t work.

Right now, I am trying My Fitness Pal.  When I track what I eat and stay in my calorie goal, it works.  When I eat over my calorie goal and don’t track, it doesn’t work.

I see this with my sister also!  She is doing Medifast.  When she sticks with the plan, it works (REALLY well!).  When she does what she wants, it doesn’t work.

It really is all about choices and just doing it.  Whatever plan you have chosen, make the decision and just do it.

I know temptation is hard.  Trust me.

I know there are times when you just want to eat something you are not supposed to eat.  Trust me.

I know that sometimes you give in.  Trust me.

I know because I have been there and continue to be there every day.

It is a battle.  Are you winning or losing?  What commitment will you make this week?  Are you going to work the plan and have it work?
