The Right Plan For Me – Medifast Weekly Weigh In

Wow!! How quickly can 5 weeks goes by!? Very quickly when your juggling 3 kids and it is the end of the school year. Where does time go?

I have had a good week and I am down 3 pounds!!!

In the last 5 weeks I am down almost 15 pounds. Actually it is 14.6. Not too shabby if I do say so myself. It was not without a few hiccups but I believe those incidents can either make you feel like you completely failed or you can learn a lesson from them.

I have chosen to learn from my mistakes and move on. These past few days have seemed to just fly by and the scale has been going down little by little every day. I have been working my eating plan and it has been working for me.

I have really enjoyed reading your comments to my posts and for the most part they have been very encouraging to me. I have tried responding to some of them but for some reason my computer isn’t letting me right now and we are trying to get that worked out.

I have been led to this eating plan (through prayer, circumstances, and a recommendation from a doctor) and I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that I am doing the right plan for me. This is the plan that is going to help me get to a healthy weight and regain my life back. Just because I have a couple of bad days on plan and I am honest by blogging about it doesn’t mean I’m not doing the right plan.

Someone sent us a message that was very negative about me doing Medifast. They were very disappointed that I had chosen this plan because they felt like people would not have lasting weight loss by doing Medifast. My question to anyone who doubts Medifast would be “Why?” There are many, many people that do all of these well known, more famous diet plans that fail miserably. I know several people that have lost A LOT of weight on this plan and have kept it off. It can be done and I am going to show everyone that it can and will work for me!

I am slowly learning what works for me and as someone commented on my last blog post, it takes a while to change behaviors. They don’t change over night. I am learning how to handle situations and emotions all at the same time. I am getting better at it by the day.

Keep Calm and Ignore Negative People

My Medifast tip for the week:

Don’t be afraid to try new foods. The best way I have found to do this is to just order one packet of something that you are interested in trying. You don’t have to order a whole box. Many people don’t realize they have the option to do that. You can order one individual packet, a box of 7, or if you really like something you can order a case of it which has a lot of one item. I’m not sure exactly how much a case holds. I think it varies depending on the food item.

If you try something and don’t like it,  put it in the back of your pantry and revisit it when you have been on plan for a while it can taste a lot better. You can sometimes search the community and search for a particular food and people have offered different suggestions on how to make something better.

Then, there are times when you really just don’t like something and know you know you will NEVER like it. As long as it has been ordered within 30 days and you just have one packet missing, just call Medifast customer service and they will replace it with something you do like. You don’t even have to have the box if you throw yours away at the beginning of the month like I do. You just have to pay for shipping at the post office.

There you have it.  LOTS of tips rolled into one.  I want to encourage you to venture out and try a new food next time you order!

My next big goal is vacation. I have decided that I want to lose weight on vacation. I don’t know if I have ever done that before but by golly I am determined that this year, I am. I plan on staying on plan, and planning out my dinners. I am bringing along with me my bathroom scale, my food scale, my food, and my Ninja blender. All of these together along with the right mindset will help me reach my goal.

Next week when I blog, I will be in the midst of my beach vacation and I will give you a glimpse of how it is going. I am both excited and nervous that I have made this a goal!!

Ignore the naysayers. 15 pounds in 5 weeks is cause for celebration! And yes, you can lose weight on vacation, I have done it. Focus on the fun part of vacation, and tell yourself you are doing something nice for you by taking care of you. Keep up the good work!

    I think different plans work for different people, otherwise we wouldn’t have so many diet plans floating around with success stories! :) we are all different in what our body and emotions need to enjoy a healthy lifestyle, kudos to you for finding what is working

    I’m so glad you posted about wanting to lose weight on vacation. I have lost about 40 lbs since January and I’m going on two week long vacations this summer. I still have about 20 pounds to go until I reach my goal weight. I have also set the goal to lose weight while on vacation. It is going to be so hard, especially when one of the vacations is a cruise and they have so many unhealthy options…but I am determined. You can do it too!!!

    I think Medifast is a wonderful program. I lost 85 pounds and have kept it off for nearly two years. I too dealt with some negativity from others, but you know what? They were typically over weight. Some of the people who criticized me actually ended using the program to lose weight themselves at one point once they saw my success. I think Medifast can be invaluable to many. It’s mindless and easy if you stick to it. I’m so proud of you. Just keep believing in yourself and do what is working. Many regain on the plan, as with any plan. It’s about why you are losing the weight and how you plan to maintain it that makes the difference. You got this. Keep up the great work!
