Summer is in Full Swing – Weekly Weigh In

I really enjoy summer.  I mean, I love my job but it certainly doesn’t hurt that I get two month’s “off”” every summer.  I say that term loosely because I did spend all week last week in classes learning to be a better teacher.

It has been two weeks since I last updated you on my weekly weigh in.  Last week, when I weighed, I was devastated.  Have you ever had those weeks where you did everything right only to find that you didn’t lose weight?  Maybe you even gained weight?  Yes, that was me last week.  I got on the scale and had gained 3 pounds.  D-E-V-A-S-T-A-T=I-N-G.  But, I knew there were probably several things that factored into my weight gain, one of which was NOT my food diary (Go on MFP and look…it’s all there!).  I was on point.

Last weekend I had a birthday and we ate out.  Probably lots of sodium.  It was Italian so I am sure it wasn’t the healthiest but I tried my best to track it all.  Then, I had leftovers…more sodium.  I also started back to Crossfit regularly so I know it takes time for the body to adjust to that – you know, that whole muscle building thing?!?  Oh, and some days last week, I even worked out TWICE.  WTH?!?

Anyway, I have stopped weighing myself every day so I didn’t really know what to expect this morning when I stepped on the scale.  What I got was MUCH better than last week:

My Fitness Pal Weight June 17, 2014

Hallelujah…there is a God!

Two pounds is good.  I will take two pounds.  It is so funny because I expect it to come off so much faster than it actually does.  Sometimes it is hard to remember that slow and steady is the only way!

I would just like to see a steady loss instead of whatever my body is doing.  It looks like a heart rate monitor.  At least I know I am alive!  LOL

Seriously, this weight loss thing is hard and it takes a lot of time and energy.  But, summer is here so I don’t have any excuses NOT to put in the work.  That is really what I have been doing.  Crossfit workouts first thing in the morning, then some days I tutor, other days I come home and go on a long walk after Crosffit, LOTS of blogging and catching up on emails, Sparkle events, tracking food, cleaning my house, organizing, planning for next school year, hanging out with friends and family, and overall just keeping very busy!

I don’t really watch television much during the day.  I save all of my tv watching for night when I catch up on shows during the week like MasterChef, 24 and Orange is the New Black!

Lots of activity…which is a good thing since I GOT A FITBIT FLEX!!!!!  I am so excited that for my birthday I got lots of great workout clothes and a FitBit.  I am obsessed with seeing how much activity I can get in a day.  Today has been my best day yet… I am up to almost 14,000 steps!  WAHOO!!!!!!  That’s what two workouts will do for you!  So far, I love it but I will do a full review once I have had it long enough to see what it is all about!

So, to say that this summer is in full swing I think would be an understatement.  The sad thing is, it will be over before I know it.

I am still trying to get to FitBloggin’ next Thursday.  So far, you have all given us $450.  We are so close to our goal and are really hoping we get to go and learn how to make this blog better.  If you have no idea what I am talking about, read all the details HERE.  If you want to contribute to help us go, click below.

THANK YOU to everyone who has made it possible for us to go thus far.  We are so close that if a few more people donate, we will get there and YOU will benefit with all the great things we learn!

How is your summer going?  How are the summer goals coming along?  You can do it!  Slow and Steady!
