Ya’ll…it happened again. I was once again surprised by the scale…in a very good way. Here is my weigh in on Monday:
Wowzers…
For a total of…
20 pounds baby! In three months, I have lost 20 pounds. So happy!
I really am happy! I know some people would poo-poo 20 pounds in three months but not me. I am just so happy to be headed in the right direction on a consistent basis. Seriously there has only been one or two weeks where I didn’t lose in the past three months. For me, that is stellar.
I attribute my success to two major things:
1. Tracking every day. Period. End of story. I don’t make excuses. I don’t say, “Well, I doubt that will be in there so I am just not going to track it.” That excuse doesn’t really work for My Fitness Pal because pretty much every food you can imagine is in there. If it isn’t, there is something close enough that you can guess pretty well! Tracking has seriously become second nature for me. It also helps that it reminds me when I haven’t tracked a meal at a certain time. Love that!
2. Cut out trigger foods for me. For me, that is sweets. My mom and I have had a serious sugar addiction. We both agreed back in December that once January 1 came around, we were going to cut out all sweets (desserts, sugary drinks, etc) for the year. Yes, you read that right, the YEAR. So far, we have done good. I have had a few sweet teas and a few Ginger Ale’s. That is just due to the fact that I have cut out all diet soda. I don’t want to put chemicals in my body if I can help it. Other than those few things, I have not eaten any sweets. I haven’t had any birthday donuts, cupcakes, cakes, nothing. I was offered a Reese’s Egg…my favorite. I said no.
Really, the whole cutting out sweets hasn’t been too bad. The decision is made. The answer is no. It makes it pretty easy for me. Plus, when you tell others, especially children, they really hold you accountable.
I think those two things have been the major contributing factors to my consistent weight loss. I haven’t walked like I should. I haven’t eaten as cleanly as I should. I haven’t always done my best. But, I tracked it and I stayed away from sweets.
And it seems to be working!
