Losing Weight and Feeling Great – Medifast Weekly Weigh In

I have another week under my belt on plan and I am losing weight. It is amazing how quickly these weeks just tick on by. Almost so fast that it is scary. Part of me wants this time to just hurry up and pass by so I can wake up a year from now and be closer to my goal but another part of me wants things to slow down so I can analyze things better and make sure that I am doing everything correctly.

This week has been a very good week for me.

I am down 3.6 pounds which has been one of my better weeks for weight loss. I am feeling good with a lot of energy. I don’t know about you but when I eat better, I just feel better. Even if I don’t look smaller yet, I just feel smaller. My clothes feel looser and things have just become a little bit easier.

I have now lost a total of 20.4 lbs!!!

I have been trying so hard to get to the 20 pound mark and finally made it. I know 20 pounds is just a drop in the bucket of what I have to lose, but it feels like it is a good start. I am starting to get faith back in myself and believe that I CAN do this!! I really think I can get this weight off!! I love thinking this way instead of the thoughts I was having thinking I would never be able to do this and I was just destined to be fat.

What I have also learned is that this is a life long journey. Yes, some people lose weight and seem to be able to just magically keep it off very easily. They must be the lucky ones….. Others lose weight and then constantly have to keep themselves in check to keep off the weight. While A LOT of people lose weight and then when they get to goal or are tired of dieting they go back to the way they were eating before and then gain all of their weight back and sometimes with a few added not so friendly pounds.

Every one, no matter what diet they are on, is going to have their own personal journey. It isn’t going to be the same as someone else’s journey even if they are doing the same plan. No one should be criticizing anyone else’s journey. I think we are all here for similar reasons. To be healthy and to start living a healthier life. I say we all just support one another and be each others cheerleaders!!

I have gotten away from my tips of the week lately but I would like to start those back up. So my tip of the week:

Losing weight is hard, being fat is hard, choose your hard.

Losing weight is hard, maintaining weight is hard, being fat is hard. Choose your Hard!

I still get to the point every now and again where I am feeling sorry for myself that I can’t eat this or I can’t eat that…..This is so hard, I don’t think I can do this…

Then I start thinking how hard it is to find clothes for me, how hard it is to play with my kids, it is hard to go upstairs, it is hard to tie my shoes, being fat is hard.

Then I have to think which path would I rather take and losing weight wins out every time.

So, next time you are feeling sorry for yourself about being on a diet think about how hard it is to do things as a heavy person and you will start to feel better!

    Think of it this way, if you have to lose 120 lbs than you have already lost 16% of what you have to lose. That is 20 lbs that you will never see again! You should be proud of 20 lbs because that is a big accomplishment! Good for you!

    I love your tip this week…..Im gonna put it on our fridge! How about painting my toenails….that’s hard too. Can I just say “amen” to every sentence on this post? LOL!

    Congrats on hitting the 20lb mark! I’m hoping to hit 10 at my next weigh-in :) I know exactly what you mean about feeling smaller and just better. I feel lighter on my feet and I’m only down about 5 lbs right now. I can definitely tell a difference in the way my pants fit too.

    I remember in a Weight Watchers meeting many many years ago hearing that “choose your hard” and it is completely true!!! Congratulations on 20 pounds!!! That is great!!! I am reminded after losing weight to pick up something that weighs as much as you have lost. It may seem like not a lot when you just say “I lost 5 pounds” but when you pick something up that weighs 5 pounds, it’s pretty heavy! You are doing amazing and slow and steady is the best way to keep it off. My friend always says (about herself cause she’s losing weight too) “I didn’t gain it all in a month, it’s not going to come off in a month. Praying for your weight loss journey xoxo
