Life Changes – Medifast Weekly Weigh In

Hey guys. Sorry I have been MIA for a couple of weeks. I have had a lot going on in my life and it has gotten very busy for a little while.

I thought things would slow down after school started but it seems like things have picked up a little bit. Of course we have had doctor’s appts. I have my daughter healing from a broken finger and have those appointments and she is also going through getting braces in her mouth so that is a lot of appointments too. We are trying out for sports and all that entails and getting sports equipment etc…

On top of all that, I feel like it is time for me to start back to work. I have been a stay at home mom now for 14 years. I have been questioning for a while what I am going to do. I graduated from college 16 years ago with a teaching degree. Well, back then they were desperately in need of teachers but now, I know several teachers that have had a hard time finding jobs.

I truly wondered if I should be going into healthcare. I heard that is where the jobs seem to be right now. I looked into different options and realized that I could have a masters degree in education in the amount of time, if not sooner, than getting a degree in healthcare. So, I started looking at different schools to get my masters degree and found that I have to have my teaching license renewed before I can start a masters degree in education. Not to mention professional references that I don’t have because I have been a stay at home mom. I don’t think they will take references from my children and husband……Darn!!

So then they have me calling the state to find out what it entails for me to get my Tennessee teaching license renewed and switched to a Georgia teaching license. Luckily for me, Georgia and Tennessee have transferable licenses so it is like I have an expired Ga license. That was great news to me. Even better news was the fact that I just have to take a few classes to get it renewed!!

Next, I headed to the internet and got on the phone with Jennifer for her opinion on how to get these classes done. I decided on a local University here that has a variety of classes that I can do online. They also happened to be starting new classes online 2 days after I was looking so I needed to get signed up quickly. I got to start my first class 2 days ago!! Yeah!!  I will hopefully be done with all of the hours I need by February, if not sooner. Everything has just fallen into place so easily, I know I am going down the right path for me!!

I am hoping to get signed up as a substitute teacher soon and get to know some principals and hopefully they will be able to picture what an awesome teacher that I could be and I will get a job in the fall. That is what I would like to happen and fall into place but we will see what God has in store.

Now to be able to keep my son well and sickness free so I can get a job. Since starting school 2 1/2 weeks ago, I have already been called to pick him up because he had a stomach virus. I will hopefully figure that one out soon.

Now onto my next topic….Medifast. I have been doing well and I am feeling great. I am down another 2 pounds for a total of 28.6 pounds. I am not down a size yet because I was wearing my clothes tight, but my clothes are fitting really loose these days!! Yeah for loose clothes!! I am feeling really good about my plan and can’t wait to start going down in sizes. It will start happening soon…….I can just feel it!!

Well, I know I have just given you a TON of things happening in my life. And it has all happened in just the last 2 weeks. CrAzY!!!!! My life is moving rapidly and changing directions like crazy right now. We’ll see what God has in store for me. I am kind of excited about it all!!

How do you handle life  changes? Are you able to eat well and keep on your plan or do you typically get derailed?
