I Ate the Cake – Weekly Weigh In

Costco Chocolate Cake

Yumm-O!

I ate birthday cake last week.

I ate A LOT of birthday cake last week.

Have you ever had Costco chocolate cake?  If the answer is “No,” don’t do it!

It is possible the best cake I have EVER eaten.  Not only is it the best cake E-V-E-R, it is HUGE!  Everything at Costco is huge so why should cake be any different, right?  So, a huge cake means eating cake for days after the celebration.  So, I ate cake.

A LOT of cake.

And this week, I gained weight.  2 pounds to be exact.

It is an appropriate time for this quote:

Don't be upset by the results you didn't get with the work you didn't do.

So true!

So, I ate the cake and I gained weight.  I’m not too upset.  I knew it was coming.

Chocolate cake must have A LOT of calories!  But you know what?!?!  I had a great birthday.  I got a new iPad3 with some accessories, some cute clothes, and a frozen yogurt machine.  Best of all, I spent time with my family.  I celebrated and I ate cake!  I will take the gain.

This week’s Weight Watchers meeting topic was one I need to save for a post all by itself.  It deserves a whole post for itself.  It doesn’t want to share a post about chocolate cake.  I wouldn’t either.  Cake trumps it all!

Have you ever splurged and knew you were going to gain but enjoyed the splurge and accepted the gain?!?

I hate the expected gain. I haven’t learned to come to terms with it yet. I know it’s an up and down journey but knowing and accepting are not the same. I have a gain coming this week. I’m trying to be okay with it and carry on. The alternative of skipping a meeting and giving up is far worse. Happy belated birthday!

Accepting is certainly hard. Whatever we do, we have to keep on keeping on. Just keep going to meetings and putting one foot in front of the other. This is a journey!

I think I will be in that boat tomorrow morning when I weigh in. We had a fabulous weekend with many splurges, so if I gain I want to have your positive attitude and remember what a great weekend it was.

Focus on the good, not the bad and move on. Great job on realizing that you had a great weekend and next week is a new week!

I love that quote! So perfect. I just ate a lot of (my husband’s) birthday and anniversary cake too… not rushing to the scale. Haha.

No rushing of the scale this week for a lot of people I think!

My coworkers just got me a vanilla Costco cake last week in honor of my recent wedding and you’re right, it was fabulous. Not sure if the chocolate has this, but the vanilla has this pudding filling…. Oh Lordy!

Try the chocolate…I mean don’t…but if you do…it is awesome!
