Be Proactive NOT Reactive – Weekly Weigh In

Tonight at Weight Watchers it was just what I needed.  I needed to laugh, share, get ideas and weigh in.  It gets my week off on the right track and gets my mind focused.  Also, after the day I had, I needed to laugh and have some “me time.”

Do you take “me time?”  Do you make yourself a priority and attend those meetings even when you have a lot going on?  Please do.  You are worth it!

Now, on to my weigh in:

Weight Watchers Sept 24 Weight 189.2

DOWN!  Yeah!  I lost 2.4!

I had a great week with eating AND exercise.  It’s amazing what happens when I do what I know to do.

Hey…guess what?!?  There are 8 weeks until Thanksgiving!  Can you believe it?  The holidays are literally right around the corner!  Are you ready for them?  Right now, tonight, you have a choice…

You can either be PROactive or REactive.

You can either plan ahead and be in great shape when Thanksgiving Day gets here or you can regret your choices over the next 8 weeks and the next thing you know, it will be January before you are “getting it together” and trying to lose weight again.

I don’t know about you but I want to be PROACTIVE!

Weight Watchers has issued an 8 week challenge.  They are challenging us to lose 1/2 a pound a week from now until Thanksgiving.  That will be a total of 4 pounds.  They are going to give us weekly challenges (like tracking, exercise, meditation, etc) to keep us on track.

I will be proactive and join the challenge.  I am also going to give you the weekly challenge that they give us.  This technically starts next week (on Sunday) but lets get a head start and start NOW!

I want to be an overachiever and lose at least 1 pound a week.  Here is the postcard I filled out tonight that will be mailed to me right before Thanksgiving:

My Weight Watchers Thanksgiving Goal to lose 10 pounds in order to fit better in my clothes

So…do you think I can do it?  I sure do!  Will you join me?  I sure hope so!

Let’s all make a decision right now to be proactive instead of reactive.

Make it a great week!

Jennifer I gain a few pound back this last month. I was at my goal for 6 months and then messed up over the summer. I plan on getting back to my goal and would love to lose a couple more. I’ll definitely join you on this challenge. We can do this, together as a group!

Are you diligent about the healthy guidelines? Because when I stay within my points and exercise and only use a few extra points I never come close to losing anywhere near that. It’ll be like .2!

I’m from Canada so Thanksgiving is in 2 weeks! I can’t believe it’s here already. I don’t even know what our plans our yet, but I’m hoping to fit in a run or two over that weekend and enjoy the fall colours :)

This sounds like an awesome idea. I am on with the challenge…….I have wasted too many weeks already with poor choices that I now regret. These next 8 weeks, I will be proactive!

Hi, I have been following your blog for a little while now. Have recently accepted the notion that this weight isn’t going to lose itself, and started a calorie tracking and running regime. Its hard to stay focused week after week, but I am making some progress. We don’t celebrate thanksgiving here (South Africa), but I am up for the challenge also. Will join you in the 10lb goal!

It is amazing what a decision and help from peers can do! You can do this!

I’m also from Canada and have just had my 2-week to Thanksgiving countdown challenge WW meeting. Yes, I will be proactive. Yes, I will make the choices I need to make to be successful. I’ve been slipping all this month. I can feel that the momentum of my poor choices is building and, you are so right, I could easily slip all the way into January.

    We can do it!

I started last week and I track everything …And My starting weight was 182,0 et todays is 179,0 so 3 pounds in less. It’s a good start. I like the challenge my challenge this week is to do a walk of 30 minutes, drink more water and continue tracking…I really like your blog.
