Vega Sport Protein Bar – Review

I have really enjoyed doing Crossfit this summer.  I have averaged going about three times a week and I just feel so good when I go consistently.  I feel stronger.  I feel more powerful.  I have more energy.  I feel like I am more productive at other things when I get a good workout in!

Something just as good as your workout is your recovery.  That is why I was super excited to try out these Vega Protein Bars as part of their Fuel Your Better campaign and SweatPink:

I first heard about these at FitBloggin‘ when some people were raving about how good they were!  As soon as I got them, I tore into them to try them and see what they were like.  I got the chocolate peanut butter flavor but they also have two other flavors.  I can describe the chocolate peanut butter in one word…


That is the best word I can use to describe these bars.  They are so good!  They DO NOT taste like a traditional protein bar.  The chocolate is creamy and there are real peanuts in them.  They are so good I have to keep myself from eating these when I have not just finished a workout!

So, you know the best part, how they taste.  Now, let’s talk about these bars in general.

  • Each bar contains 15 grams of complete, plant-based protein – Complete, multisource plant-based protein from whole grain brown rice and pea protein give your muscles the protein they need!
  • 2 grams Glutamine – Glutamine is an amino acid that not only helps to rebuild muscle tissue, but also helps to support your immune system after periods of physical stress (Like working out!).
  • 2.5 grams BCAA’s – Branched Chain Amino Acids (BCAAs) help to transition your muscles from a catabolic (breaking muscle down during exercise) to anabolic (rebuilding) stage!
  • 1 gram of Omega Threes
  • Non-GMO
  • Gluten-Free
  • No artificial Colors, Sweeteners, or Flavors
  • Come in three flavors:  Chocolate Peanut Butter, Chocolate Coconut, and Chocolate Mint.

Can you see how this would help you after a workout?!?  It basically helps me recover faster so I can continue to “fuel my better” and workout again sooner rather than later!
