Better ‘N Peanut Butter – Review

Better' N Peanut Butter

Better' N Peanut Butter

What American doesn’t love peanut butter?  We eat it on bread, toast, in a sandwich, with bananas, with chocolate, with a spoon, and the list could go on and on.  My household loves peanut butter and we don’t even have kids.

The problem is, if you are trying to lose weight, peanut butter is not very healthy.  It is full of fat and calories.  But, now, there is an alternative.

While shopping at Trader Joes the other night, we picked up some Better’n Peanut Butter.  I was skeptical but willing to give it a try because it was so much healthier.  It has 85% less fat and 40% fewer calories than regular peanut butter.  It also has no trans-fats, no preservatives, no cholesterol, and no refined sugar.  One tablespoon of regular peanut butter will cost you 3 Weight Watchers Points Plus.  One tablespoon of Better’N Peanut Butter will only cost you one WW points plus.

So, I know what you are thinking, “With all those “NO’s” above, I bet the taste is a big “NO.”  Well, you are wrong.  I love it!  It is different than regular peanut butter but I think it is delicious.  It is sweeter than regular peanut butter and has a somewhat different texture than regular peanut butter.  We eat it on anything you would normally eat peanut butter on.  I think it is delicious and with the WW Points Plus difference, it is a keeper!

Thank you to the makers of this fabulous product!  We have found a new love for peanut butter that is definitely better.  Have you tried this product?  If so, please let me know what you think of it!

I love it and I heard there are lots of fun recipes on their website!

Took your advice, Jennifer, and picked up some last night.  I love it too :)  Since it has to be refrigerated after opening, do you eat it cold with sandwiches or try to heat?

Yeah! I am so glad you tried it and loved it! I just put it on the bread (or banana) cold. By the time I put whatever else on the sandwich, it has warmed up quite a bit…

I bought my first jar last week, and I love it !  I am on Weight Watchers points plus plan and it is only 1 point per Tablespoon. My favorite way to eat it is spread on an Arnold Sandwich Thin with sliced bananas!  Excellent! And since the Sandwich Thin is only 2 points,  it is a total of 3 points with one Tbsp BTPB or 4 pts with two. And the banana is free with the points plus plan. Great way to start your day with protein.

I am so glad you tried it! It would be delish on the sandwich thin with banana. I like to take a teaspoon full and eat it slowly with the banana. Yum! Thanks for the idea of adding the sandwich thin!

Read this review awhile ago, and was disappointed as there are no Trader Joe’s close to where I live… However, great find of the week, my husband and I found it at our local grocery store tonight! I was so excited to eat pb again!  Enjoyed a Tbsp on top of a WW mini ice cream sandwich and was delighted (and mimicking a Reese’s pb cup just added to the fun)! Thanks for sharing this info!!!

I didn’t know that Jasmine! I will have to try it. Did you order it online or find it in a store?

I’m addicted to this stuff. Its so different than regular PB, but I like the taste better now after having tried it. So good in a smoothie with bananas, almond milk, greek yogurt and flax.

I must say that because this product has so much more sugars than I would like, I will be happy with 1 tablespoon of real peanut butter that I make with my blender. It is only 2 points on Points Plus WW. I’d rather have the quality than the quantity.

Tapioca Syrup, Dehydrated Cane Juice, Rice Syrup…then they add vitamins and lecithin and E&C- and what the heck is “Defatted peanut flour?”

Gonna skippy this one. (Pardon the pun).]

    Ingredients: PEANUTS (AS
DEFATTED PEANUT FLOUR AND NATURAL PEANUT BUTTER),

    TAPIOCA SYRUP,
    PURE
    WATER,
    DEHYDRATED CANE JUICE, RICE SYRUP,
    VEGETABLE GLYCERIN, SOY FLOUR,
SALT, TAPIOCA STARCH, NATURAL FOOD FLAVORS, PAPRIKA & ANNATO,
CALCIUM CARBONATE, LECITHIN, VITAMINS E & C (ANTIOXIDANTS).

Peanut butter addicts unite! Follow up: I found a product: Protein Plus Peanut Flour. It is what this product is made from, but much less fats, sugars and carbs and lots less expensive than Better’n Butter. 1/4 cup = 3 WW points! Similar product is PB2, but again, this product has has sugar and is way more expensive. Just read the reviews.

I’ve been looking for a peanut butter that isn’t so bad for me, wow! Thanks for the tip!

YOU SHOULD TRY PB2!!!!!!! It’s defatted pb in a powder form. Then you just add some water and it turns into almost regular pb! And only 45 cals/2TBSP.
