Arden’s Garden 2 Day Detox Review

I have done the Arden’s Garden 2 Day Detox two times before and plan to do it again at the end of this week.

The gallon jug says lose weight and rejuvenate.  Arden’s Garden is a local company here in Atlanta that distributes their products to stores like Fresh Market and Whole Foods.  I purchased my gallons of juice from Whole Foods since it is close to where I work.

Here is how the plan goes:

You purchase two gallons of pre-mixed juice (or you could make your own following the directions on their website here).  You drink one gallon a day with as much water as you would like.  You continue this for 2 days and at the end, they say you will lose weight and rejuvenate your body.

The mix is made out of grapefruit juice, lemon juice, and orange juice  mixed with distilled water.  I decided to give this a try to see if it works before the end of my weight loss competition.  Here is what I found:

First of all, the taste, not so great.  Tastes a bit like unsweetened grapefruit juice.  Very sour!  It does grow on you after the first day.

The first day is the hardest.  You will be fatigued and tired and have not much energy.  You might want to take an afternoon nap.  The food cravings are on an individual basis.  I didn’t really crave food too much while I was on the 2 day detox but my stomach did growl at times.  When that would happen, I would just chug another glass of juice and it would go away shortly.

The second day, it was a breeze.  I don’t know if it was because I was on the downhill slope or my body just adjusted but it was very easy.

Now, that was the first round of juicing.

The second round was the Wednesday and Thursday after Christmas.  I had not eaten so well over Christmas break and thought it would jump start my weight loss as I came to the end of the competition.  I had a terrible headache both days.  The first day was the worst.  I also had to use the bathroom A LOT!!!!  I guess depending on how badly I ate the days leading up to the detox are how badly the side effects are.  Posts online said that you would sleep harder than ever the nights you are juicing.  This was true during the first fast.  I slept great both nights.  The second fast, my sleep was not as good.

Overall, I would recommend this product to anyone who has “fallen off the wagon” and just needs a boost to healthy eating and weight loss.  After the detox is over, I had a decreased appetite for a few days, I had lost at least four pounds and I was ready to achieve my weight loss goals once again.  If you are considering it or have any questions, the employees at the Arden’s Garden locations are super friendly and will answer any questions you have about the product!

About

My name is Jennifer, I’m 33 and I currently live in a suburb outside of Atlanta. I live with my husband, Jason and Shi-tzu, Maggie. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.
My full time job is teaching elementary school. My part time job is private tutoring after school for grades K-6. I have been on my weight loss journey my entire life but just began to take it seriously two years ago when I decided it was time to start a family. I didn’t want to be one of those people who others look and and say, “Is she pregnant or just really fat?” At the rate I was going, that question would certainly be asked. So, two years ago I joined Weight Watchers. Now, closing in on losing 100 pounds, my life is healthier and I am happier. Now…bring on the baby!
My blog is here for you to be inspired, learn something new, and hear all about all new products I try. Join me on this weight loss journey as I go through ups and downs, good and bad, and continue to take it one day at a time!

“Arden’s Garden is a local company here in Atlanta that outsources their products to stores like Fresh Market and Whole Foods.”

Thanks for the review as I’m thinking about trying the 2 day cleanse next week.  Just a minor correction, saying Arden’s Garden “outsources” means that Fresh Market and Whole Foods make the juice for Arden’s Garden – this is incorrect.  Arden’s Garden does, however, “distribute” their products through stores like Fresh Market and Whole Foods and even Kroger for that matter.
