Arden’s Garden 2 Day Detox Review

Arden's Garden 2 Day DetoxI have done the Arden’s Garden 2 Day Detox two times before and plan to do it again at the end of this week.

The gallon jug says lose weight and rejuvenate.  Arden’s Garden is a local company here in Atlanta that distributes their products to stores like Fresh Market and Whole Foods.  I purchased my gallons of juice from Whole Foods since it is close to where I work.

Here is how the plan goes:

You purchase two gallons of pre-mixed juice (or you could make your own following the directions on their website here).  You drink one gallon a day with as much water as you would like.  You continue this for 2 days and at the end, they say you will lose weight and rejuvenate your body.

The mix is made out of grapefruit juice, lemon juice, and orange juice  mixed with distilled water.  I decided to give this a try to see if it works before the end of my weight loss competition.  Here is what I found:

First of all, the taste, not so great.  Tastes a bit like unsweetened grapefruit juice.  Very sour!  It does grow on you after the first day.

The first day is the hardest.  You will be fatigued and tired and have not much energy.  You might want to take an afternoon nap.  The food cravings are on an individual basis.  I didn’t really crave food too much while I was on the 2 day detox but my stomach did growl at times.  When that would happen, I would just chug another glass of juice and it would go away shortly.

The second day, it was a breeze.  I don’t know if it was because I was on the downhill slope or my body just adjusted but it was very easy.

Now, that was the first round of juicing.

The second round was the Wednesday and Thursday after Christmas.  I had not eaten so well over Christmas break and thought it would jump start my weight loss as I came to the end of the competition.  I had a terrible headache both days.  The first day was the worst.  I also had to use the bathroom A LOT!!!!  I guess depending on how badly I ate the days leading up to the detox are how badly the side effects are.  Posts online said that you would sleep harder than ever the nights you are juicing.  This was true during the first fast.  I slept great both nights.  The second fast, my sleep was not as good.

Overall, I would recommend this product to anyone who has “fallen off the wagon” and just needs a boost to healthy eating and weight loss.  After the detox is over, I had a decreased appetite for a few days, I had lost at least four pounds and I was ready to achieve my weight loss goals once again.  If you are considering it or have any questions, the employees at the Arden’s Garden locations are super friendly and will answer any questions you have about the product!

“Arden’s Garden is a local company here in Atlanta that outsources their products to stores like Fresh Market and Whole Foods.”

Thanks for the review as I’m thinking about trying the 2 day cleanse next week.  Just a minor correction, saying Arden’s Garden “outsources” means that Fresh Market and Whole Foods make the juice for Arden’s Garden – this is incorrect.  Arden’s Garden does, however, “distribute” their products through stores like Fresh Market and Whole Foods and even Kroger for that matter.

It’s my son’s idea; he is a professional athlete. He and his girlfriend, who is a (size 2) model does the detox from time to time. I’m not hungry but I’m used to snacking so I feel snacky.
My BP has been unusually high lately; my doctor ordered blood work. Cholesterol a little high and vitamin D is too low. I have a vodka & cranberry juice cocktail on a regular basis. During this Lent season, I’ve given up my cocktails but I do have a couple glasses of wine instead. During the detox I’m only going to drink the detox drink and distilled water. I’m researching distilled water; appears it can be dangerous if you drink it all the time. Anyway, I’m about to do my two mile walk in the sunshine so I can boost my vitamin D. Thank you so much for your encouraging words. I’ll let you know how I made out on Saturday morning.

          How was it Phyllis?

Well, I did it. I wasn’t really hungry but I missed the taste of food, especially when i saw food commercials. I cheated a little; I ate 5 roasted, unsalted almonds Thursday night and 6 Friday morning. I did complete the 48 hour fast though; it took a whole lot of scripture reading and prayer. I p’eed all day and night, no bowel movements though until after the sweet potato I ate for breakfast with butter and cinnamon I ate for breakfast this morning. I had a fried chicken wing at cheese cake bakery at Atlantic Station this evening, . I had a Long Island Iced Tea and 2 glasses of white wine too. I plan on doing the 2-day detox again on Monday and Tuesday this coming week when there will be less week-end influence.. Thank you so much for checking on me.

Today is my first day starting the 2 day detox. I’m crossing my fingers and praying I can get through today. My co-workers are looking at me crazy and saying so you really not going to eat food for two days and with confindence in my voice I say yes, but in my mind I’m thinking what in the world am I doing. I must do this :)

      How did it go?

I heard you lose quite a bit of weight in those 2 days (which isn’t the healthiest) so I was wondering if the weight stayed off over the next few weeks or if it was just water weight from peeing so much

    • Jennifer Swafford

The weight stays off as long as you follow a strict eating plan after you stop the detox. Not ALL of it will stay off but most will.
