Crock Pot Three Bean Turkey Chili – Recipe

Back to school, back to school.  Did you say it in the voice of Billy Madison?  Ha!

This past week was one of the longest weeks.  Most weeks going back to school after  a long holiday are.

So, when I was looking into some yummy dinners to make that would be easy, I found a recipe on Skinnytaste for a chili I could make in the crockpot.

Crock Pot Three Bean Turkey Chili Recipe

I decided to give it a try and Oh-My-Lord…it is good!  Like, one of my new favorite chili recipes good!

It was also super cheap, like 3 meals for only $15 total, cheap!

The best part…it is so easy!  The hardest part is chopping the onion and browning the turkey!  After that, you are just about D-O-N-E, done!

So, please, I beg of you, if you have a busy week coming up, make this the night before your busiest day!  Go ahead and put it all in the crockpot, throw it in the fridge; the next morning, put the insert in the crockpot and viola!  Done!

Try this and you will love it!

Crock Pot 3 Bean Turkey Chili

Serves: 12 (10 oz a serving)

WW Points Plus:  5 pp per serving

  • 1.3 lb (20 oz) fat free ground turkey breast (I used 99% ff Jenni-O turkey breast)
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 (28 oz) can diced tomatoes
  • 1 (16 oz) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (4.5 oz) can chopped chilies, undrained
  • 1 (15 oz) can chickpeas, undrained
  • 1 (15.5 oz) can black beans, undrained
  • 1 (15.5 oz) can small red beans, undrained
  • 2 tbsp chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp. cumin
  • Dash of cayenne (depending on how hot you like it)

Brown turkey meat and onion in a medium sized pan.  Season with garlic powder, cumin, and cayenne.  Cook on medium high heat until cooked through.

Spray slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray and transfer turkey mixture to crockpot removing any fat that was rendered while cooking.

Add the tomatoes, tomato sauce, chilis, chickpeas, beans, and chili powder to the crock pot.  Stir until well combined.

Cook on high 6 hours.  Top with shredded cheese if desired (Just make sure to count the extra points plus!)

Enjoy it!  You can thank me later!
